What actually makes you money, and what is losing it.
Sales file
Works with sales exports, order lists and invoice reports. It needs revenue and either a cost or a profit on each row.
Profitability: What actually makes me money?
Profit and margin by product, customer or region, and what is losing money. You need sales with a cost or profit on each row. Drop it in and the answer appears in your browser with no account, no setup and nothing uploaded. Download the result as a PDF report or an Excel workbook to send on.
Upload a sales file and each row is added up by product, customer or whatever else your file holds. You see profit and margin for each, how few of them bring in most of your profit, and which ones lose money. The sliders test a change in prices or costs, and the dashboard lets you slice the same numbers any way you like.
How to run it
Export your orders (Shopify, Square, Stripe, a POS or a visit list) with a customer, date and amount.
Upload it. Line-item exports are rolled into orders by order number.
Read the cohort table and the revenue-per-customer curve, add margin and acquisition cost if you have them, and download the workbook.
Frequently asked questions
What does the file need?
Revenue and either a cost or a profit on each row. If you only have unit price, unit cost and quantity, those work too.
What can I break it down by?
Anything in your file: products, categories, customers, regions, stores or salespeople. Pick one from the list and every figure follows.
Does dropping a product really save that much?
Only if its costs go with it. The figure counts the revenue and cost on those rows, so shared costs such as rent stay where they are.
Is my file uploaded?
No. It is read in your browser and never leaves your computer.
