Where your money goes, what went up, and what is new.
Expense list
Works with ledger exports, card statements and expense reports, or any list with a date and an amount.
Expense Analysis: Where are my costs going up?
Spending by category and vendor, what is rising and what is new. You need a list of expenses with dates. Drop it in and the answer appears in your browser with no account, no setup and nothing uploaded. Download the result as a PDF report or an Excel workbook to send on.
Upload a list of expenses and they are added up by category, vendor and month. You see what a typical month costs, what is rising, which vendors are new, what you pay every month and which single charges stand out. The sliders show what a cut would save, and the dashboard lets you slice the same numbers any way you like.
How to run it
Export your orders (Shopify, Square, Stripe, a POS or a visit list) with a customer, date and amount.
Upload it. Line-item exports are rolled into orders by order number.
Read the cohort table and the revenue-per-customer curve, add margin and acquisition cost if you have them, and download the workbook.
Frequently asked questions
What file do I need?
Any list of expenses with a date and an amount: a general ledger export, a card statement or an expense report. Vendor and category columns make it more useful.
How is “compared with before” worked out?
The last three full months against the three before them. With less history it uses shorter periods, and an unfinished last month is left out.
What counts as an unusually large charge?
A single charge at least three times that vendor’s usual amount.
Is my file uploaded?
No. It is read in your browser and never leaves your computer.
