What insytesBI does with the files you analyze and the information the website handles.

Last updated 17 October 2026

Files you analyze

When you choose a file in an insytesBI tool, it is read and analyzed by code running in your web browser. The file and its rows are not sent to insytesBI servers or stored by insytesBI; the only exception is the column names when you type a question, described below. Closing or reloading the page discards the file unless you choose to save it, as described next.

Saved statements

If you press “Save on this device”, the transactions from your bank statements, your category changes and your budgets are kept in your browser’s own storage (IndexedDB) on that device, so your numbers are there when you come back. They are never sent to insytesBI or anyone else, and there is no account. The site asks your browser to keep this storage through routine cleanup. Backups and monthly packs you download, or a backup file you choose to keep on your computer, are files on your device that only you control. You can delete everything saved with “Delete saved statements” or your browser’s site-data settings. Safari removes a site’s storage after seven days without a visit unless the site is added to the Home Screen.

Offline use

The site keeps copies of its own pages and code in your browser so it opens without a connection. These are the site’s files, not yours.

Documents you generate

Invoices, quotes and statements are built in your browser and saved directly to your device. insytesBI does not keep a copy.

What is stored in your browser

To apply the daily free limit, the site keeps a count of today’s analyses in your browser’s local storage. It holds a date and a number, nothing from your files. If you use the budget or the financial statements page, the figures you type are also kept in your browser so they are there when you come back. You can clear all of it with your browser’s site-data settings.

Typed questions

When you type a question on the Spreadsheets & forecasts page, the question, the column names of your file and its first and last date are sent to an AI service (Groq, Google Gemini or Cerebras) through insytesBI’s server, to work out which calculation you mean. The rows of your file are never sent: the calculation itself runs in your browser. insytesBI does not store your questions. The quick questions you pick from the list send nothing.

The assistant on the home page

When you press Go, the words you typed and the name of any file you attached are sent the same way to an AI service, only to choose which tool to open. The file itself is not sent. To hand an attached file to the tool, it is kept in your browser’s own storage for up to two minutes while the page changes, then deleted.

Advertising

insytesBI shows ads served by Google AdSense, which keeps the tools free. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technology to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalised ads in Google’s Ads Settings, and read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ personalised ads at aboutads.info. Ads never see the contents of your files: those are read only inside your browser.

Pro waitlist

If you join the Pro waitlist, insytesBI stores your email address, when you joined and which page you joined from, in Google Cloud Firestore. It is used only to tell you when Pro is available. To be removed, email us and we will delete it.

Email

If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply. Please do not send bank statements, account numbers or other sensitive records by email.
