About file tools

The readers each handle one kind of document you would otherwise go through by hand, and tell you what matters in it. The converters keep your figures exactly as they are and change the format: bank statements to Excel, QuickBooks, Xero or Quicken; PDF tables to Excel or CSV; CSV, JSON and QBO files to clean workbooks.

How to use them

  1. Pick the tool named for your file.
  2. Upload it; several months at once works too.
  3. Read the results or download the new file.

Frequently asked questions

Which tool should I use?

To understand a file, use the reader named for it: bank statements, card processing statements, 835 remittances, vendor statements, broker trade history, invoices, payroll reports. To change a file’s format, use a converter: a statement to Excel or QuickBooks, a PDF table to Excel or CSV, a CSV or JSON file to a workbook.

What is the difference between reading and converting?

A reader tells you what is in the file: where the money went, what fees you paid, which claims were denied. A converter gives you the same figures in another format, ready for Excel or your accounting software.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Every tool reads the file in your browser, so your files never leave your computer.
